WHAT'S PERCULATING IN THE UMI-VERSE

Dearest sisters and brothers,

With two of our co-op members off gallivanting, researching and spreading the Umi gospel in Mexico and beyond, the rest of the Umi clan are still here working our darnest to keep your friendly neighbourhood cafe in top-notch form. Why not come down with some friends and enjoy a delicious caffeinated drink with some sweet music or socially-conscious events to kick those winter blues away?

If you would like to plan an event, play a gig, bring in your art or are just interested in how you can get involved like these cool folks below, please send us an email at: info@umicafe.org or come by the cafe and speak with one of us

Onto the shows:

Sonic Defense
suggested donation/8pm start time

Two sets - one acoustic, one electric.
Bring a donation for the food bank!

The sonic defense is an ongoing project consisting of songs written by Rob Boudreau. The songs are performed by Rob with a evolving cast of friends and studio aces. Following a long recuperation back in Ottawa, he decided to reform the band. So far, the lads have finished the bed tracks for four brand new songs. For the new tracks, Rob was lucky enough to recruit Mike Brittain, drummer of the world famous The Coggs and a master brew master to boot. (from their myspace)

Also check these out:
