Finally, you knew that post-industrial, abstract, sometimes melodic electronica would come to Umi Café. Clawing back to the underground Vancouver scene in the late 1980's, late 1990's Detroit and San Francisco in the 2000's, as well as the British acts from Autechre to later Radiohead, Kram Ran continues to push the genre forward from the next logical geographical nexus, Winnipeg. "I’ve seen Winnipeg audiences astonished, mouths agape, eyes bulging out of heads, brows furrowed with brain-gears shifting in (mostly) vain attempts to understand one of Winnipeg’s most brilliant, unique and shocking artists." - Kent Davies, Stylus Magazine
"It has often been said there's a thin line between genius and madness. We have no idea which side of that line enigmatic electronica artist Kram Ran is on." - Darryl Sterdan, Winnipeg Sun
