Here we go, These are the events for the upcoming fundraising week.

THURSDAY, JANUARY 29th - - SOUL JOURNEY - - - extravaganza!
Start Time: 7:00 PM
$5 Cover

Soul Journey is an exceptional Ottawa based trio combining nouveau Spanish guitar with Latin percussion, creating an exquisite blend of Latin rhythms and world music, with contemporary influences. The group members originally come from El Salvador and Mexico.

Balam Santos is reminiscent of a Jimi Hendrix of Spanish guitar, blending various Latin, Blues, and other world musics in a way that is utterly spell binding. Raymundo Pizana on guitar and bass is a high level seasoned professional. Their quick fingered guitar action is utterly mesmerizing and a joy to take in. Salomon Carrillo on Latin percussion is an innovative and eclectic performer, exploring many different kinds of traditional and modern instruments, as only an experienced and talented percussionist can. Together they bring out the spirit of music as they magnetize the crowds with each performance.

Floquestra Brasil - Coming from Guimaraes & Sao Paulo, Brasil, Quebec , We can expect an eclectic night of Brazilian and world rhythms from these acclaimed artists. With Regina Gomes Teixeira (vocals & percussion), Leonard Constant (guitar), they have performed all over Ottawa, Quebec, the rest of Canada and the world. Guaranteed to make the part of the night where all the tables get pushed to the side arrive earlier in the night.

SATURDAY, January 31^st – Two Events for $5 Dollars –

3:00 PM - - ARTS AND CRAFT SALE + ART AUCTION – Come share in some coffee and tasty menu items while you shop around for that gem that has been looking. All art and crafts will exhibit Ottawa’s amazing and homegrown artisans.

7:00 PM – YOUNG GRIOT COLLECTIVE AND FRIENDS – Come check out Ottawa’s newest and most diverse and talented collective of poets, singers and musicians. This is the key night to see what Ottawa’s movement under the surface is All About. All artists welcome.
Performances by FreeWill, Musk Ox (Nathaniel Larochette), Mehdi (ONE), Empress Nina, Hyfidelik and many more surprised guaranteed.

****All the proceeds will go to developing the Umi Community Centre and guarantee the presence of Umi within the community.
