Umi Cafe: Shift Film Series Travels Deeper

Who are we?

Umi café is Ottawa's friendliest cafe, a community-based, fair trade and organic coffeehouse on the edge of Ottawa's Chinatown, serving an extensive menu of food and pastries prepared on-site.

Since 2008, Umi has also been a hub for the arts, supporting and showcasing hundreds of local grassroots musicians, poets and visual artists primarily from Ottawa, but also the wider Canada, South America and the USA.

Through events, in-house collaborations or catering engagements, Umi Café has worked with dozens of NGO's, government departments, university faculty and student groups, making this corner of our city stand out for its culture.

Shift Film Series Travels Deeper

The Shift Film Series has been filling Umi with discussions about consciousness and global transformations every Tuesday, and it's looking to go even deeper in February. And now that the buses will be back there will be no excuse to miss out.

Following a discussion on shamanism and the occult aspects of writing and comic books is one of the most stunning unconventional Westerns ever made. Based on the comic book of the same name, Blueberry is a journey for the search for gold in the vastness of the frontier desert, and a search for truth through stunning inner landscapes explored with shamanic plant technology.
