Umi Cafe: Shift Film Series

Who are we?

Umi café is Ottawa's friendliest cafe, a community-based, fair trade and organic coffeehouse on the edge of Ottawa's Chinatown, serving an extensive menu of food and pastries prepared on-site.

Since 2008, Umi has also been a hub for the arts, supporting and showcasing hundreds of local grassroots musicians, poets and visual artists primarily from Ottawa, but also the wider Canada, South America and the USA.

Through events, in-house collaborations or catering engagements, Umi Café has worked with dozens of NGO's, government departments, university faculty and student groups, making this corner of our city stand out for its culture.
