The Ultimate in Afro-Indian Fusion. Come into the earthly space to witness cosmic sounds being webbed by the most innovative band in town. The SnakeCharmers are a fusion of Indian classical (sitar) melodies and African beats and chants. With roots stemming from Burundi and Northern Uttranchal, this group forms a unique and ever-changing blend of cultural music that is sure to entise the senses. Come support The Snake Charmers, (Amar Ghelani & Denis K) as they take you far over oceans, borders, ideas and color into the universal world of this beautiful music.

Ottawa's Own, MARABOU comes to bless the friday night madness at Umi Cafe.
Few bands are known for their stage energy before their name is a coined term. Maribou is one group that extends beyond their immediate range. Flushing out hypnotic melodies, singing stories that tinge the ancient and holding an audience hostage to the energy and vibe. The franco-phonian band is comprised of Louis-Philippe Robillard (guitare, harmonica, accordéon, autres cossins...), Claude Munson (guitare, banjo, ukulele, voix, sling shot et culbutes), Ellorie McKnight (viola, voix, douceur) et Alexandre Bevington (basse).
