Currently a solo performer and part of the band Problematic, Tanya Janca is a self-taught guitarist/ singer/ songwriter. For the past 4 years she has been playing in bars and small festivals around the Ottawa area. She has also done countless interviews on radio & TV station. Tanya Janca is often compared to the famous female musician Ani Difranco for her blunt, piercing lyrics and her folk/ punk style. Tanya Janca has also performed with other great musicians such as Carole Pope, Julie Doiron and Andy Stochansky. During performances she plays with an emotional air, singing songs that subject matters range from sex, to feminism, to telling off strange men in bars. Full of intense energy, audiences are often surprised by her powerful voice and stage presence. Tanya Janca truly puts on an interesting and original show.
