A toast to Electoral Reform - BC-STV

are hosting a Toast for BC-STV this Sunday, April 26th,
from 7pm-9pm at Umi Café. The event’s objective is to
show support in solidarity to the Yes campaign of the May 12
referendum on electoral reform in BC. Many local chapters
across Canada will also host a toast at the same time.
Come and meet local electoral reformers. This social event is free.
It’s an excellent occasion to support , learn more and celebrate the national movement for electoral reform in Canada.

zone out on a puzzle, delve into cosmic discussions with other nerdy people.

The incomparable Denis Rancourt is presenting yet again another lecture, in the midst of his battle against the University of Ottawa over their decision to fire him on March 31st, 2008. While his academic freedom is being infringed, he continues to stir up critical thinking by continuing to give lectures and encourage debate.
Title: Is Hippie Activist an Oxymoron?
Description: I will examine activism and solidarity in the context of life style choices, community, wellness, and fraternity. I will draw from the works of Herbert Marcuse, Ward Churchill, Edward Said, Paulo Freire, and others in a critical analysis of the hippie phenomenon.
